.....but I have a good excuse. I started my course 3 weeks ago and have been really busy with that. I seriously can't believe that we're 4 weeks into it already I don't know where the time has gone! We have two exams out of the way already and I passed the first one with credit ! Whoo hoo!! Hopefully with get the result of last Friday's one on Monday or Tuesday and the next one is next Friday!
I'm also doing an evening class in Jewellery making. It's going ok, I have a few bits made (must take photos of them) but I'm not that impressed with the tutor. Only have another 2 weeks of that to go and I actually won't be sorry when it's over.
I'm WAY behind posting up my paperplays so here they are for the last 3 weeks.
I set week 15's challenge which was A Stitch In Time" Basically use stitching on your project it can be real, draw on or stamped, up to you!
And this was what I did for it !!
Week 16's challenge was set by Jackie as was To use Wings on your project, Birds, butterflies, fairies whatever you like as long as it has wings.
Here is my entry for it using one of Ger's fab embroidery owls (I LOVE these) check out her shop Little Snippets
And finally last week's challenge was set by Julie and was all about letters : I love using letters on my projects:- alpha stamps, thickers, or my absolute favourite - downloading fonts from the internet and printing the font I want in the colour and size that suits best. So, this week, I'd like you to use lettering as a strong feature of your work. Feel free to do anything else, use images, embellies, whatever - just make sure the sentiment or title stands out! And here's what I did for it (a LO of my Aunt & Uncle on his 60th Birthday)
And finally this is one of my favourite songs at the moment. I can't get it out of my head and find myself humming it all the time! Enjoy!!!!
So last night "Entertainment Tonight" ran Part 3 of their exclusive "On Set" report from"New Moon". I cannot wait till November to see this movie. I missed out on all the hype associated with "Twilight" last year because I only heard about the book/movie in October and the movie was well made at that stage. Anyway here's the report with some "Sequel Secrets"!!!!
SO what's been going on with me. Well I'm starting a course on Monday (Manual and Computerised Accounts). It runs for 9 weeks and I'm looking forward to it. I'm hoping it'll put a bit of routine back in my life! Also our local VEC is looking for tutors for evening classes for next autumn and they're looking for a tutor for cardmaking classes so I said what the heck I'll apply so I did a little video to go along with my application! Have a look below v v v v
Also I haven't put up my Paperplay projects for the last few weeks so this was Week 13's challenge that was set by Sandie.
Times 4 it!
TIMES 4. ..... X4 your creation.. whether it's a layout, card or altered item.. times 4 it! 4 pictures, 4 buttons, 4 flowers, 4 of whatever you want!!"
This was what I did for the challenge.
And this weeks challenge was set by Elisa and was Complimentary Colours "The challenge is complementary colours, that is, to use colours that are opposite to each other in the colour wheel, such as red/green, yellow/purple, orange/blue, etc." This was my project
It's my turn to set the challenge next week so keep an eye out for that ;-) Oh and i nearly forgot that we have 2 new team members. Big welcome to JulieM and Deirdre. Pop over to the blog and see the gorgeous things they created for this weeks challenge! Over on Creative Scrappers it's the Birthday Bash. Creative Scrappers is one year old and to celebrate there are loads of sketches, challenges and prizes and they've used 2 of my sketches. Head on over to join in the fun and keep an eye on my sketch blog because I'll be putting up the sketches there along with lots of new ones. I've been ignoring that blog {blush}.
I've been commissioned to do a scrapbook for a 50th birthday (first time I've been asked to do any scrapbooking stuff !) so I've been working on sketches for that and I'll be putting them up on the sketch blog for all of you (if you want to use them !).
Oh I almost forgot I also signed up for an evening class. It's a Jewellery Making one and I'm really looking forward to it. Don't know if it's running yet (it'll depends on numbers) but I should hear soon seeing as it's starting on Wednesday. So I'll be busy, busy, busy for the nest few eeks but I like it like that!
Also since the last time I updated I got my "Twilight" cd (yippee) and I'm so looking forward to "New Moon". Here's one of the best fanmade trailers I've seen.
Also "Entertainment Tonight" in the US visited the set and showed a few sneak peaks.
Well are you excited now???!!!!
I can't believe it's nearly a month since Mum has passed. We're having her mass on Saturday 2nd May. It has come around so fast! She would have been 75 years old last Thursday 23rd April. Right I'll say goodnight for now and I promise I won't leave it so long to update again .
My Mum passed away on Monday 30th March at 6.50am. She peacefully slipped away and I know she is in a better place and no longer in any pain or distress :-(
I want to say a huge "Thank You" to all my online friends who have supported me through all this, for all their e-mails, pms, cards and for just listening to me go on when things seemed to be getting too much. I made this little video today , hope you like it {{HUGS}}
You are observant, diplomatic and often aim to please. You are unaware of your attractiveness and despite being uncomfortable with any form of attention, people enjoy your company. You can be impatient, stubborn and headstrong, but you are true to your word and mature for your age, often taking care of your family and enjoying a good book over chatting with girlfriends on the phone.
